Greetings everyone who realizes the importance of literacy in every area of life! I hope all is well your way. We’re seeking submissions for a collection of poetry, essays, flash fiction, brief & basic worksheets or lesson plans, and short stories called: Tulsa Artist Fellows Inciting: LITERACY anthology. THE THEME of Tulsa Artist Fellows Inciting: LITERACY is bridging the gap between ignorance and enlightenment, while eliminating the "illiterate tax". (The illiterate tax is the price you pay for being illiterate in an area.) The book will focus on reading and writing-, numerical (math)-, technical (digital)-, health (mental, physical, emotional)-, financial-, media-, cultural-, and civic literacy. The anthology will wrap jewels of knowledge and simple insights in creative writing that makes the information easier to understand. It will feature contributions from citizens of Tulsa, Tulsa Artist Fellows, and submissions from experts in various fields from around the world.

THE PURPOSE of Tulsa Artist Fellows Inciting: LITERACY anthology is to edify people and help them unlock their potential. It will foster collaboration between the vibrant Tulsa community and Tulsa Artist Fellows. The anthology will be a valuable and renewable literary/artistic resource that will benefit the community in the present as well as posterity.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
We want to know what you have to say about literacy as it pertains to reading and writing, mathematics, technology, finances, media, culture, civic, and health (mental, physical, and emotional). How does literacy or illiteracy [in the category(s) of your choice] effect society? What are some benefits of being literate? What are some challenges that come from being illiterate? How does one become literate? We want simple, eloquent, and artistic contributions that delve into what literacy looks and feels like to you and society.
